Richard Warren Bracewell

Richard Warren Bracewell, 84, of Hot Springs Village passed away on November 10, 2014. Richard was born November 7, 1930 in Stuart, Iowa to Starkey M. and Alice (Walker) Bracewell. He married Gerry Pratt in Des Moines, Iowa on August 25, 1950.

Richard served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for Standard Oil Company for 20 years, and later owned Arbee Oil Co. before retiring in 1994. He and Gerry moved to Hot Springs Village in 1997. He was a member of Community of Joy Lutheran Church, The Morning Lions Club, Sertoma in Iowa, he was involved in the Eagle Scouts for over 60 years, he worked in the Village Junior Golf program, and he was a public relations officer for 10 years at the west gate and later served as a volunteer.

Richard is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gerry, 3 children: Richard, Christine and Andrea, 1 brother David, and 2 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Calvin.

There will be a graveside service at Community of Joy Lutheran Church on Wednesday, November 19th at 1:30 P.M. with a reception to follow at the church.
